Old friend mL and I saw Alain de Botton in conversation last night at the NY Public Library. He discussed his new book, the Pleasures and Sorrows of Work; http://www.alaindebotton.com/work/index.asp
Mr. de Botton was so well spoken, it was frightening. But truly, it was a wonderful talk.
We then went to a very good Chinese place and had a very good, albeit late dinner.

Speaking of work, today was more craziness, some good some bad. For the bad I just remember those famous words of the great English poet, Elvis Costello; "I used to be disgusted, but now I'm just amused."
****
Made an appointment for a foot massage (hot stones!) and a pedicure at Bliss on Saturday. I can't wait. : )

I also have plans of attending the AGITPROP! printing class at the Center for Book Arts on Friday; http://www.centerforbookarts.org/

Wonderfully loud thunderstorms this morning. Rain off and on during the day. No balcony bistro tonight.
UPDATE: Psssttt... and I just bought these earrings off of etsy. You Henry Miller and Anais Nin fans will appreciate this; http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=16782318 |

Super cool earrings!
I've been curious about hot stone massage - let us know how you like it!
I can't wait for the massage, I'll definitely report back.
And regarding the earrings, I was perusing the rest of the seller's store, and she has jewelry with June Miller as well! When she's open for business again, I'm going to request a June Miller necklace. My heart always went out to June. | |
